"OSTEOINTEGRATED"
IMPLANT WITH NO SUPPORT ON POST TEETH Osteointegrated implants
are not always supported on post teeth; a model was created that takes this method
into account, disconnecting the prosthetic teeth (yellow) from the post
teeth (green). Although the adjacent teeth do not play any role in
terms of anchoring or supporting the implant they were preserved in order to obtain
a more realistic comparison between the new results and those from the previous
model and also because in practice patients needing a similar implant to that
in the model still have their own natural teeth, at least in the front. All
the different types of load illustrated earlier were then applied to this model
and the distribution of tension in the upper cortical bone is shown in all cases;
in the case of a 200N load applied on the second tooth, a comparison is given
with the basic model (supported on post teeth) subject to the same load
conditions. |
